Well-Style Centrifugal pumps are an older style of bore that were hand dug. Usually a whole street would get together over the weekend and help each other hand dig out the soil while dropping Well Liners one by one until they reached water.

These Well Liner Bores can vary in depth from a couple of meters right through to 10 plus meters.

There are not many tradesman that are willing to work on and service these style of bore pumps.

Submersible involves a Drill Rig to use large scale 120mm diameter drill bits to come in and drill down until water pockets are reached in the underwater cave referred to as the Great Artesian Aquifer.

Depths vary depending on location around Perth. Most typical Submersible bore Casing goes to 20 – 30 meter depths.

As the Drill rig drills out the hole the 100mm White PVC Casing is dropped into the hole. At the very bottom a special slotted screening type casing is used which allows the artesian aquifer water to flow into the bore casing while also filtering out any debris like rocks and pebbles.

Both the Well liner centrifugal and Submersible bore pumps can come in either single phase or 3 phase versions as well as varying motor sizes and pump flow rates. Deciding the correct pump for the situation is a science in itself that requires knowledge around environmental head pressures, desired flow rates and balancing the two between optimum curve efficiency outputs.
